The book tells the story of the Pride of Baltimore I, a roving ambassador and a floating museum for Baltimore, Maryland from 1977 to 1986. The Pride was a replica of an 1812 topsail schooner sometimes called Baltimore Clippers.
The book contains 48 pages of text, photographs, and illustrations depicting the story of the historic Baltimore clippers, the building of the Pride I, and its launching in 1977. It features over 75 color photos, black & white photos, illustrations, and drawings. The front cover shows the Pride I at sea. The Pride is shown riding the waves on the parchment cover page.
